I was born in Canton, Ohio and from
an early age I was interested in
music and radio. As a child I
spent countless hours watching my
Dad's band "the one night stand"
practice, this instilled a strong
love of music, performing and studio
workings. I had a Webcor 4 track
reel to reel recorder that I would
interview my friends with and later
got a Yamaha mixer and would
practice being a D.J., recording
mixes, playing them back and
analyzing my work. I spent a lot of
my teen age years hanging out at the
local radio station "WRQK", watching
and trying to learn as much as I
could about broadcasting.
It wasn't until 1995 that I finally
got into radio as a way to make a
living, I attended the Connecticut
School of Broadcasting in Atlanta,
Georgia. While there I
Interned at "WGST" in the News
Department and later at "Z93" in the
Programming Department. I worked for
several small Atlanta stations until
I got my first on air position as
Assistant News Director at "WRGA" in
Rome, Georgia - leaving after the
station was sold. I ended up back at
"WRGA" several years later running
board for the local "Georgia
Bulldogs" broadcast and doing a
Saturday morning airshift at sister
station "South 107". I
eventually started doing weekend
overnights at "WSKZ" In Chattanooga,
commuting the 140 mile round trip
every Friday and Saturday. The last
place I hung my hat was at "WSB"
750AM in Atlanta where I worked for
several years as a technical
producer.
